Asian Style Furniture.

Though I can’t tell you definitively what defines Asian style furniture I think it is pretty obvious to everyone what it is when we see it. Perhaps above all other piece the most recognizable modern Asian furniture style is the platform bed. Distinguishable by its low profile and simple lines, Asian style platform beds are a great way to spice up an otherwise dull bedroom set.
You can find Asian platform beds pretty much anywhere these days but most of them are made of veneer. I’ve had better luck searching for Asian platform beds online where the selection is much better and the prices are more reasonable. Perhaps the most glamorous Asian platform bed I found is the Kondo platform bed sold at Tansu Oriental Furniture Boutique. Hand made from solid teak with lines taken from traditional Japanese architecture , the Kondo platform bed is truly stunning example of what I consider modern Asian style furniture. You be the judge.

I’ve been on a trip to Thailand a couple of years ago and I was really impressed with the Asian furniture. I’ve seen a dining table made of solid teak which was absolutely amazing and not expensive at all. Too bad that the transportation must have cost a fortune at that weight.
Hi this is Tansu.net (gratefully mentioned in original post) and we wanted to respond to Suzanne’s comments. Shipping heavy Asian furniture is expensive when done on small scale but not so bad when your bringing in entire containers like we do. We specialize in custom furniture for those that can wait and we bring it over on our regularly scheduled containers for a nominal charge. Its a great resource for designers and consumers who know what they want but just can’t seem to find it.
Yeah. Asian furniture looks great. Especially those wooden one.
